Geotechnical design of landslide rehabilitation of the Corfu – Achillion road
Landslide rehabilitation design of the Corfu – Achillion road (retaining wall failure and downslope soil slide). The landslide area comprises marly clays of intermediate to high plasticity, covered by the weathering mantle and fine grained scree. Bach analyses were performed for the estimation of the failure mechanism and the strength parameters of the formations. The proposed measures for the landslide rehabilitation include construction of two pile walls, one at the location of the failed retaining wall (higher pile wall) and a second one downslope (lower pile wall), along with the construction of a counterweight at the toe of the failed slope.
