Civil Engineer

He was born in Athens in 1967 and he is married and a father of two children. He is a professional engineering license holder of Class C in category 21 (geotechnical design) and class A in category 10 (transportation design)

EDUCATION

Civil Engineer of the National Technical University of Athens, (1991), with postgraduate studies in Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Durham (PhD, 1995).

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

From 1996 to 2014 he had been an associate engineer of firms: Sotiropoulos & Associates S.A., Geomechaniki S.A. and Hydroerevna S.A. and since 2014 Partner and Managing Director of ATENEIA P.C.”

He has extensive experience in coordination and development of Geotechnical design and Site Investigations, in major infrastructure projects, mostly highways, railways, large dams, ports and specialised building projects, and in a wide range of private projects. In addition he has an excellent background in providing technical consulting services to infrastructure projects, particularly in large dams, underground structures and specialised building projects.

SELECTION OF PROJECTS

He has designed many major infrastructure projects, the most important of which are: Egnatia Odos Highway, PATHE Highway, E65 Central Greece Highway, Ionia Odos Highway, E80 Nis-Serbian-Bulgarian border Highway, Kastoria-Ptolemaida National Road, Railway lines Athens-Korinthos-Patras, Lianokladi-Domokos, Kalampaka-Ioannina and Thessaloniki-Alexandroupoli, Pyli Dam (Trikala Prefecture), Agiokampos Dam (Larissa Prefecture), Landslides stabilization and remediation of National Road Tripoli-Sparti, PATHE Highway at Malakassa and Taxiarches canal of Mornos Aqueduct, exploratory galleries at Kakia Skala, New Acropolis Museum, Sovel Factory at Almyros, Alimos’marina, Wind farm at Kefallonia, Photovoltaic parks in Koutsopodi, Tripoli, etc. He has provided technical consultant services during construction of: Combined Air Operation Center at Larisa, Aposelemis Dam – Heraclion Prefecture, Triantafyllia Dam – Florina Prefecture, Nestorio Dam – Kastoria Prefecture, E80 Nis-Serbo Βulgarian borders Highway etc.
